A new mini-game where players can enjoy Mahjong together has been added!
Enjoy playing Mahjong with various rules, from standard play to special matches featuring unique superpowers!
Mahjong is a mini-game for up to 4(*a) players.
Each player begins with 13 tiles and draws (Tsumo) from the wall or claims (calls) tiles from other players (Pon, Chi, or Kan) in turn to complete a 14-tile hand with a Yaku and win.
(*a) Up to 3 CPU players can be added.
Game Flow
The player draws (tsumo) a tile from the wall and discards one they don't need on their turn.
This process is repeated to complete a winning hand with a yaku.
Rounds
The game consists of several "rounds".
The dealer seat rotates and points are calculated after each round.
In each round, the dealer gets to draw first and benefits from a scoring system that favors them over the other players (non-dealers).
If the dealer wins or the round ends in a draw (with no winner), the same player stays as "dealer".
If a "non-dealer" player wins, the next player (counterclockwise) will be the new "dealer".
Normally, a game consists of 2 rounds, the East round and the South round, known as the East-South round.
Each player gets a turn to be the dealer in each round.
(If there are no dealer repeats (Renchan), the East round consists of East 1 to East 4, and the South round consists of South 1 to South 4.)
The game ends once the predetermined number of rounds has been played.
The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Tiles
A Mahjong set consists of the following numbered tiles and honor tiles, for a total of 136 tiles.
Numbered Tiles
"Character", "Bamboo", and "Circle", each numbered from 1 to 9. There are four identical copies of each tile.
Honor Tiles
The "dragon tiles" (White, Green, and Red) and the "wind tiles" (East, West, South, and North). There are four identical copies of each of these as well.
Yaku
To win, you need to complete the basic pattern of 14 tiles consisting of four melds (mentsu) and one pair (jantou), and also fulfill a specific combination or condition called a "yaku."
Each yaku has a value called "han", and the higher it is, the more points you will get when you win.
Meld (mentsu)
A set of 3 identical tiles (triplet), or 3 consecutive numbered tiles of the same suit (sequence).
Pair (jantou)
2 identical tiles in the "4 melds and 1 pair" pattern.
How to Win
Tsumo
Form a winning hand by drawing a tile on your own.
Ron
Form a winning hand by claiming a tile discarded by another player.
Types of Calls
A call is made when a player chooses to use a tile discarded by another player to form a meld.
Pon
Claim a tile discarded by another player when you already have a pair of the same tile to form a triplet.
Chi
Claim a tile discarded by the player to your left to form a sequence.
Kan
A set of 4 identical tiles. Can be formed by claiming a tile discarded by another player (exposed Kan) or self-draw (concealed Kan).
Dealer, Non-Dealer, and Rounds
There is one dealer and three non-dealers in each round.
Starting from the dealer and going counterclockwise, the players are referred to as East, South, West, and North.
A full rotation where each player takes a turn as the dealer is called a "round", starting with the "East round" and followed by the "South round".
